Citizens
of Collin County have seen spending by the
Commissioners Court grow at a much faster
rate than that of the population growth
throughout the county and this has
resulted in an ever increasing
property tax burden. Saddled
with the weight of higher taxes, families
have to make tough choices and stretch
their dollars unnecessarily. As a
candidate for County Commissioner, I get
asked what does a Commissioner actually
do? I tell them that their most
important role is to set the county budget
and spend their tax dollars in the most
efficient manner.
Unfortunately, our current Commissioners
Court has lost sight of this
responsibility. As your next Commissioner,
I will bring my nearly twenty years of
technology and management consulting
experience to county government so we can
get back to the efficient use of taxpayer
dollars. Every dollar spent is a dollar
out of your pocket, and I will review the
county budget with that in mind. We can,
and must, make government work better and
eliminate waste. With
my proposal to form a Citizens Government
Efficiency Board to make recommendations
on how county government can run more
efficiently and freezing overhead spending
that has grown exponentially, we can be
proud of our Commissioner’s Court. |
